CCHS Band & Choir

The Cathedral City High School “Royal Jazz Band” is an esteemed ensemble recognized throughout Southern California for their exceptional musicality and professionalism. Led by the talented director Mr. Matthew Howe, this audition-only group consistently delivers exceptional performances at various events including weddings, parties, community functions, and even on local radio and TV. Their collaborations with renowned jazz artists like Buddy Greco, as well as their extensive participation in clinics with leading professionals such as Lorin Cohen, Anthony Fesmire, and Jeff Ellwood, have honed their skills to a level that rivals industry professionals. In addition, the band has also released a CD in 2008, showcasing their dedication and skill. With their captivating jazz sounds, the Royal Jazz Band enhances any event, providing an enjoyable musical experience.

Giselle Woo & The Night Owls

Giselle Woo & The Night Owls are a rock band hailing from the Coachella Valley in California. They describe their sound as "Chicano desert rock," blending elements of blues, psychedelia, and the spacey guitar riffs characteristic of desert rock. Fronted by Cathedral City native Giselle Woo, who provides both English and Spanish in her raw yet melodic vocals, the band incorporates her local roots into their music. The band's lineup consists of Giselle Woo on vocals and rhythm guitar, Christian Colin on lead guitar, Marco Murietta on bass, and José Ceja on drums. Formed in 2018, Giselle Woo & The Night Owls have become a staple in the Greater Palm Springs music scene. They've performed at notable events such as the Joshua Tree Music Festival and Coachella, gaining recognition for their single "Coachella Gold," released on an EP in 2019.

Transport back to the flashy fun of the 1950s and 1960s with The Dreamboats. Formed in 2009 in Mississauga, Ontario, the energetic four-piece group specializes in beloved hits from the pre-Beatles era, covering chart-toppers like Elvis Presley, Dion, and Frankie Lymon. Consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Bryan Davies, bassist Johnny G. Wiz, saxophonist Barry Cooke, and drummer Matt Best, The Dreamboats have brought their impressive harmonies, snarling saxophones, groovy guitars, and infectious beats to venues across Canada and the US, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
